Red Sox Infielder Earns Spot On MLB Network’s Top 100 List
Dennis Eckersley has earned the honor of being recognized as one of Boston’s greatest athletes.
Before taking the stage at The Tradition, Dennis Eckersley shared his thoughts on the respect Boston’s famous athletes hold.
Tristan Casas emerged as an impact player in his first full season with the Boston Red Sox in 2023. Casas finished third in American League Player of the Year voting, hitting 24 home runs and posting an .856 OPS, establishing himself as a key player for the future Red Sox. As a result, Casas enters his second full season on baseball’s radar. Casas debuted at No. 97 on MLB Network’s “Current Top 100” for the 2024 season. The 24-year-old turned the season around after struggling through the first two months to become one of baseball’s most popular players on the field. He joined the process after making important revisions. “When you make adjustments, you have to center them, especially when you’re playing at home at Fenway,” MLB Network analyst Cliff Floyd said Tuesday. “Once you achieve success, you can take steps to put yourself in a better position.”
With a bat like Rafael Devers, Alex Cora will again count on Casas to be the driving force in the Red Sox lineup. Although he’s a year away from the major leagues, Casas’ potential is still high.
