Red Bull change location of Christian Horner investigation hearing in last-minute U-turn

Christian Horner’s hearing for “inappropriate behaviour” at Red Bull is due to take place on Friday, but he has been moved from the team’s Milton Keynes base to a new location.

Red Bull has changed the location of Christian Horner’s audition.

The Red Bull Racing team-mate accused Horner of “inappropriate behaviour”. The energy drink giant’s parent company is taking the matter seriously and Horner has strongly denied the allegations against him.

He will remain the team leader as the investigation continues. The Briton has been team principal of Red Bull’s flagship Formula 1 team since its debut season in 2005, and the upcoming 2024 campaign marks 20 years of his career on the grid.

Horner is scheduled to hold a hearing on Friday with an independent investigator hired by Red Bull to oversee the case. The team leader has invited his legal counsel and will have the opportunity to present his case.

According to The Times, the hearing was originally scheduled to take place at Red Bull’s base in Milton Keynes. However, due to intense media attention on the case, they changed those plans.

The hearing is currently said to be held at an undisclosed location, and Red Bull officials have not revealed any other details about the hearing. Horner is expected to be questioned about the claims against him during the trial.

The investigator is expected to take the weekend to review the evidence before presenting his findings and recommendations to Red Bull early next week. The parent company decides what to do.

Red Bull Racing is committed to resolving the issue by next Thursday when the 2024 season begins. Pre-season testing begins on Wednesday 21 February and the season kicks off with the Bahrain Grand Prix on Saturday 2 March.

Horner was seen leaving home on Thursday morning as he prepared for a hearing that will decide his future. He led the team to its third straight constructors’ championship last season, winning all but one race.

“After becoming aware of certain recent allegations, the company initiated an independent investigation. “This process, which is already underway, is being led by professional outside counsel,” the company said.

“The company takes this matter very seriously and the investigation will be completed as quickly as possible. “It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time,” he said.
