FEDEX CUP LEADER REVEALS WHY HE’S REMOVED HIMSELF FROM TIGER WOODS’ EVENT

FEDEX CUP Leader Explains Why TIGER WOODS Canceled Event

Pavon, 31, moved to the top of the FedEx Cup standings after becoming the first Frenchman to win on the PGA Tour by winning the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines last month.

He quickly earned a third place individual finish in the weather-shortened AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Pavon won his first PGA Tour title this season after receiving his 2023 card through the DP World Tour. But after the most successful stretch of his professional career, Pavon decided to skip not only last week’s controversial WM Phoenix Open, but also this week’s Genesis Invitational at the famous Riviera.

The decision may come as a surprise to some, especially given Pavon’s prowess and the fact that the Genesis Invitational has a $20 million prize pool, with the winner receiving $4 million. He told Golf Planet it wasn’t because of the injury, but because he wanted to spend more time.
