Orlando, Florida — Cheyenne Woods played her last round of golf five days before giving birth to her second child in two years.

Woods, 33, a longtime pro and grandson of Tiger Woods, first met the MLB outfielder during an interview on the Birdies Not BS podcast. Hicks played golf from age 5 to 13 before switching to baseball and credits Woods with greatly improving his short game. The former Yankees shortstop, who most recently played in Baltimore but is now a free agent, is a force on the golf course. A few years ago, Woods gave Hicks an impressive 3-wood on the par-4 303 hole at the Silver Reef Club in Scottsdale. There was a sweet Instagram swing from Cameron’s son this week.
“My son likes to watch golf,” Woods said. “It’s crazy.” He’s really into baseball. … “I want to show my kids what my mom can do and what my mom does.”
Hicks opened with a round of 77-74 in the Celebrity Division and had a score of 65 on the modified Stableford scoring system. LPGA Hall of Famer and Lake Nona native Annika Sorenstam tied former NHLer Jeremy Roenick with a first-round 75.

“I love it,” Hicks said of returning to OCD. “I love being around athletes from other sports and watching great golf on the LPGA. It’s the best of both worlds. Plus, you feel the adrenaline rush as you start the first hole and finish the last. “It’s always a good feeling.”
Woods became an LPGA rookie in 2015 and won the 2014 Ladies European Tour Volvik RACV Ladies Masters. The Wake Forest graduate is not currently on the LPGA and said she has no plans to play full-time again. But trying to qualify for another U.S. Women’s Open or participate in the event from time to time. “The most important thing for me, after living on my own, away from my family, is waking up and making breakfast for my son and feeding my daughter at night,” Woods said.
“My family is the most important thing to me. Not only have I given birth to two children in the past two years, but I lost my brother unexpectedly last year. With the incredible blessings of children, the importance of family and being together whenever possible has become even more important.
