The 15-time major championship winner made his return to golfing action as he teed off alongside Justin Thomas at the Hero World Challenge. On his first competitive outing since his withdrawal in the third round of the 2023 Masters, the intrigue surrounding his resurgence showed that his stock remains as high as ever.

It is clear that his return is the result of a painstaking recovery programme after he went under the knife on a troublesome right ankle in April. These issues had stemmed from a single-person car crash in 2021 and his discomfort was visible during the Masters in 2022 as he traversed the course.

In the interim period between his surgery in New York earlier this year and his comeback at the Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas, Woods has seemingly been hard at work to improve his condition. In fact, his dedication to making it back to the sport was so pronounced that he has allegedly been working out during the early hours.
