Malnati, 36, is one of six player directors on the PGA Tour, along with Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott, Patrick Cantlay and Webb Simpson.
Following Saturday’s third-round 66 at The Players Championship, he spoke candidly about a number of current topics in golf. Malnati said he had been informed of Monday’s meeting with PIF president Yasser Al-Rumayyan, but that not all player-managers had been informed.
Scott called on all six player-managers, including Woods, to meet with the PIF as soon as possible to discuss contracts or move forward. But it was Malnati’s explosive comments about team golf that raised the most eyebrows during the long interview at Sawgrass.

Malnati, who has one PGA Tour win at Sanderson Farms in 2015, criticized LIV Golf’s current team model as “forced,” “artificial” and “fake.”
