Justin Thomas details post Tiger Woods era at Valspar Championship
Justin Thomas details Tiger Woods’ Valspar Championship days
Thomas took a safer route in explaining the post-Tiger Woods era ahead of this week’s PGA Tour event at Valspar.
Scotty Scheffler has recently become one of the most influential names in PGA Tour history. What he’s accomplished over the past three years has now drawn comparisons to Tiger Woods.
He easily achieved number one in the world rankings. After visiting Ernie’s Place and winning the Players Championship two years in a row, people start to think that if someone is this dominant, maybe they’re better at golf.
Ahead of the Valspar Championship, Justin Thomas was asked what he thought of the post-Tiger era and the unique man leading the sport. “You’re going to see someone like Lowry or a player like him or Jordan (Speth) or someone else win by seven or eight points,” Thomas said. “Jordan may lead by six points, but he’ll still have a nice conversation with Greller in the trees on the 16th about how it feels to put the tee on the green when he’s not coming.”
