Phil Taylor’s net worth after 16 world titles as darts legend continues retirement tour

Sixteen-time world darts champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor has amassed an incredible net worth as the British sporting legend returns to World Seniors action

Phil Taylor has amassed a massive net worth.

Sixteen-time world darts champion Phil Taylor has amassed a staggering net worth as he prepares to return to World Seniors action.

‘The Power’, 63, is still competing in the senior competitions after bowing out from the PDC in 2018. This is set to be Taylor’s final year after he announced he would be calling it a day at the oche at the end of 2024.

But Taylor would be able to delve into a retirement pot like no other with his net worth at $7million (around £5.5m). He dominated world darts for more than three decades as he lifted an unprecedented 16 World Champions titles, 16 World Matchplays, six Premier Leagues and 11 World Grand Prixes among a plethora of others.

The darts sensation was only 16 when he wowed Alexandra Palace at the World Darts Championship (WDC), despite a final loss to Luke Humphries.

The Nuke will continue playing against seven of the best dart players in the world — Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Michael Smith, Nathan Aspinall, Rob Cross and Peter Wright — in a mini-tournament in a different city every Thursday until the final in May.

Unsurprisingly, Taylor sits head and shoulders above any darts player throughout history in terms of trophies and has the earnings to match, though with the rapid growth of darts over the recent years, hastened by Luke Littler’s emergence, the current prize pot is the largest it’s ever been.

He’s still in the mix though for the remainder of the year as he looks to win his first major WSDT event after previously finishing runner-up at the World Matchplay and World Masters in 2022. Taylor returns back to action on Saturday as he faces the three-time BDO world champion Martin Adams in the quarter-final of the World Seniors Champion of Champions in Blackpool.

However, Taylor’s swansong threatens to be a painful one as he attempts to find his best form on the senior’s stage while battling the effects of arthritis. ‘The Power’ revealed he has the condition in his hip which affects the joints and connective tissues.

The Stoke-on-Trent arrowsmith is currently No.7 in the world in the senior rankings and was hopeful he could be able to improve his condition in the coming weeks and months after admitting he was battling the pain when he lost to Manfred Bilderl at the World Seniors Championship in February.

Speaking to Online Darts, Taylor said: “I’m doing everything that I can, because I have arthritis in my hip. I cannot turn right, so I’m not throwing straight. I don’t know why, my darts are going over in the fives.

“I’ve had to sit and think about it. So, hopefully in the next month I can shed a bit more weight get rid of this pain. It’s a nightmare. It’s seven days a week and 24 hours a day. Even if you turn over in bed at night, you’re in pain.”
