There’s nothing like fame and fortune as a teenager to inflate the ego.
But Luke Littler’s manager, Martin Foulds, has sought to dissuade any growing sentiment that the darts phenomenon has become arrogant. The youngster shot to stardom after finishing as a runner-up at the World Darts Championship at just 16, and he’s since claimed senior titles in Bahrain and Belgium.
It was in Wieze that semi-finalist Ricardo Pietreczko blared in Littler’s face and dubbed him arrogant after losing to the Englishman, albeit later apologising for his actions. Raymond van Barneveld – whom Littler has repeatedly referenced as his idol growing up – also told the prospect to “f*** off” for a perceived lack of disrespect for not texting him back.
