Luke Humphries takes subtle jab at Luke Littler after losing three in a row to darts star
Luke Humphries is aiming to make yet more history when he takes on Luke Littler this week.
Luke Humphries is hoping to avoid a fourth defeat against Luke Littler in a row.
Reigning darts world champion Luke Humphries has taken a subtle dig at Luke Littler following a poor run of form against the teenager. Humphries defeated Littler during the final of the World Darts Championship earlier this year, but since that encounter it’s been Littler who’s got the better of his darts rival.
It’s been a stellar 12 months for Luke ‘Cool Hand’ Humphries, who after picking up several TV titles – including the 2024 World Championships – is now looking to win the Premier League too. The West Berkshire-born ace sits top of the table in the Premier League, having won the last three nights of action and could become the first-ever player to win four evenings in a row on Thursday.
However, despite Humphries’ strong form at the oche, Littler has managed to get the better of him during the duo’s previous three matches. But ahead of their meeting in Belfast this week, Cool Hand has revealed he isn’t looking for retribution. Humphries said: “It’s not about revenge – there is no revenge in darts – because I won the biggest tournament in the world. He has beaten me a few times since, but that’s because he’s so good.

“You can beat somebody 20 times in a row, but if you get the one that really means the most, then it doesn’t matter. I’m not going to put too much pressure on myself or try too hard to do four in a row. No one has ever done it before, and only two people have ever won three in a row.
