Tour star achieves ‘perfection’ ranking him above Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy
Much has been said about the remarkable rise of Ludvig Aberg in recent months, and Sir Nick Faldo has become the latest to heap prize on the Swedish star – who finished second at the Masters
The Swede is not resting on his impressive maiden major showing though, after entering this week’s RBC Heritage and was joined by his Ryder Cup teammate Rory McIlroy in round one. And Aberg picked up form where he had left off at Augusta, carding an impressive five-under-par 66 in Thursday’s opening round.
The pick of his opening 18 holes, came at the par-five fifth where he made eagle. It was the approach that left many awe, as Aberg fired in a remarkable two-iron 271 yards to within eight-feet, before rolling in the putt to make a three. The remarkable shot and swing caught the attention of Faldo.
Throughout the years some of golf ‘s greatest players have been blessed with remarkable swings, but Faldo appears to rank the youngster’s above the likes of Tiger Woods and McIlroy. Taking to social media, the six-time major winner tweeted: “Is this the best golf swing you’ve ever seen or what?? plane perfection!”

His impressive showing at last week’s Masters saw him make up even more ground in the Official World Golf Ranking as he moved into a career-best seventh, having gained almost 900 places on the list in the space of a year. Aside from his victories, impressing at Augusta will no doubt be a career highlight.
