During the 27th anniversary of the wedding, both seemed to have a lot of ups and downs in life, but the most important thing was when Amy diagnosed breast cancer.

However, Phil returned to the PGA tour immediately after knowing that Amy cancer was taken in an early stage and was treated. Phil Mickelson spoke about his wife’s condition in a conference call before the FedEx St. Jude Classic, his first tournament since returning.
Sky Sports quoted him as saying:
“I’ve never felt anything like that before. I’ve never been this emotional, so if I’m driving alone or anything, I’ll just start crying. It’s a bit of a weird thing.”
“Obviously we’re going through a tough time right now. “We were lucky enough to catch it early enough that we didn’t have to make any rash decisions and we can make the right decisions for the long term.”
The veteran golfer’s troubles didn’t end there. Less than two months after Amy’s diagnosis, her mother was also diagnosed with cancer. After several painful months, Mickelson won a tournament in Atlanta and praised his wife and mother for their fight
against cancer.
