This request was prompted by a visit to the United States.

With one out in the seventh inning, Little was called up from the bullpen by manager Craig Counsell, making his ninth pitching of the season. However, after the umpires’ standard check on the approaching pitcher, he was informed that he had no gloves.

“The problem was he had an American flag on his glove,” Counsell told reporters. “There are pretty strict regulations that say there can’t be any white on a pitcher’s glove. It seems like the flag may have distracted the batter.

Little told The Associated Press that MLB officials emailed the team about the visit.

“Club mates said they got an email from MLB saying they weren’t allowed to wear it,” he says. “But I didn’t know they were going to cut me. It’s not like he has an advantage in the match. This is not about blinding the attacker. I’m just representing my country.

“It’s a complete fiasco,” Little added. “We have to prepare for it and get through it.”

The Cubs pitcher, who has a 2.16 ERA and two RBIs and is holding batters under .200 this season, posted a GIF respon
