Steve Williams reveals the truth about Tiger Woods after so much. Full details in comment
With a relationship as long as the one between Woods and his long-time caddy, ups and downs become part and parcel.
Years after unveiling some dark secrets from their time together, Steve Williams had recently given the golf world the shock of their lives with his new (and contradictory) take on the golf world hall of fame-r.
In an unexpected turn of events, the famous caddy of the star player from 1999 to 2011 revealed that what they had was more of a partnership
Than a boss-employee bond, a commonality between most players and their caddies.
He described his bond with the 15x Major winner as, “a bond that probably I [Steve Williams] haven’t strapped with any other player.”
Steve Williams’ exact words were, “I think we had a bond probably closer than any of the other players I’d carry for…
We struck a relationship where we both had the same attitude towards seeing the same kind of hard work, dedication, or whatever you want to call it… So we became very tight, for sure.”
However, Williams’ recent description of the time he spent with Woods is poles apart from what he described it as earlier.
In fact, his recent description has even left the golf community in a deep state of perplexity. But why is that the case?
Williams and Woods: Exploring their dark past
The recent statement given by Steve Williams is poles apart from the one he stated in his memoir ‘Out of the Rough’.
Therein, the famous caddy had called out Woods for treating him like “his slave.”
His memoir stated back in 2015, “One thing that really pissed me off was how he would flippantly toss a club in the general direction of the bag, expecting me to go over and pick it up.
I felt uneasy about bending down to pick up his discarded club — it was like I was his slave.”
Undoubtedly, then, his recent description of their relationship being a “partnership” comes as a shocker to many.
