American Bryson DeChambeau is tied for the lead at the 2024 Masters and is being closely watched by LIV Golf chief Greg Norman, who discussed his star player’s mindset. Bryson DeChambeau is tied for the Masters lead. Bryson DeChambeau agrees with Greg Norman that he is finally happier since joining LIV Golf. The American is currently tied for first place at the Masters with Scottie Scheffler and Max Homa. DeChambeau came out of the blocks on Thursday to take the sole clubhouse lead with an incredible 7-under round. But the entire field struggled in the tough conditions on Friday, with only eight players hitting shots under par, so the 73 was considered solid golf. Norman, who brought DeChambeau to LIV in 2022 as one of the first majors, has been spotted several times at the Masters this week.
He even spent time following Rory McIlroy’s group on Thursday. But on Friday, Australian players turned their attention to DeChambeau, one of 13 LIV golf stars competing in the Masters. After the round, DeChambeau was told that Norman had said that the 30-year-old DeChambeau had been feeling and playing “happier” lately. DeChambeau agreed. “Well, you’ve seen me a lot, both good and bad.”
he answered. “When I jumped into LIV, I wasn’t playing my best golf and I was struggling. So he’s seen some up and downs, as well as Mr. Nelson over here. There’s been a lot of people that have seen up and downs. “And now that I have the right tools, and I’m a little older and hopefully a little wiser, I’m able to calm down and be comfortable being who I am and enjoy the moment. I think I’m going to be here forever, so I better enjoy it while I’m here.
