Tiger, 47, is competing this weekend with his 14-year-old son Charlie at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. According to the event’s official website, Tiger and Charlie will be competing in the PNC Championship for the fourth consecutive time, where former PGA Champions team up with their families to compete for the prize.
Sports fans are used to seeing the father-son duo together at golf events, but on Saturday, Tiger’s 16-year-old daughter also made a surprise appearance as an official caddy. The PGA Tour’s Instagram account posted a video of Sam cleaning and organizing a Tiger golf club.
The post’s caption read: “Sam Woods serves his father for the first time today.”
The photo showed Tiger and Sam together during Round 1 of the PNC Championship. Sam, who was wearing an official caddy vest with “Woods” written on his back, gave his father a fist bump at one point. Other photos show that his father’s couple was mounted along the golf course and kissed Charlie and chatted.
Sam does not seem to accept his father’s love for golf, but she noticed success and victory. During the World Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony in March 2022, Sam called her father a “fighter” and mentioned his 2021 car accident.
“We didn’t know if you were going to come home with two legs or not,” Sam said in his speech, according to NBC Sports. Now, not only are you on the brink of being inducted into the Hall of Fame, you’re here on your own. That’s why you deserve it. You are a fighter. You defied the odds every time.”
In the same speech, Sam said her father often attended her violin concerts and soccer games despite his busy schedule. Tiger thanked his daughter, saying, “Damn, I lost the bet that (Steve) Stricker wouldn’t make me cry. Thank you, Sam.”
