Darius Rucker reflected on his long-standing friendship with Tiger Woods in his latest memoir. In it, he writes about Woods’ physical and mental struggles and how he supported him through his troubles.

Darius Rucker has been friends with Woods for over three decades. During the years that saw Tiger become arguably the greatest golfer of all time, Rucker won three Grammys and numerous other accolades.

On Tuesday, May 28, Rucker released a new memoir, “Life Is Short,” which tells the story of his life in 23 songs. Speaking about his relationship with Tiger Woods, Rucker mentioned that he met the golfer in Michigan after performing with his band Hootie & the Blowfish.

“We keep in touch and become fast friends,” he told the American magazine. “Hootie & the Blowfish will play at his wedding, I’ll sing at Tiger’s 30th birthday, I’ll sing at his 40th birthday, I’ll sing at his father’s funeral. “Over time, life has taken a toll on him. He has been through a lot physically, mentally and emotionally and he has managed to survive. “No matter what happens I’m there for him,” he added.

How did Darius Rucker and Tiger Woods meet? A few years ago, the rocket talked about the first meeting with Woods. He said they played in the club in East Ringge, Michigan, and then headed to the bar named “American Caferick”. He added that he and his bandmates were sitting at the bar when he noticed Tiger Woods, who was just 18 at the time.

“So I walked up and said, ‘Are you Tiger Woods?’ And he said, ‘Are you the guy from Hootie and the Blowfish?’ And I sat down and we hung out all night,” he told the PGA Tour a few years ago.

Darius Rucker has been an avid golf fan and loves playing the game whenever he gets the time. A few years ago, he was named the PGA Tour’s first brand ambassador. The rocket also worked as a commentator for the PGA tour live. He also accepted Siriusxm’s radio program “With Darius Rukar”. Additionally, he has competed in numerous pro-ams, including the AT&T Pebble Beach Golf Tournament. Rucker is also an investor in TMRW Sports, co-owned by Tiger Woods. The 58-year-old musician has also participated in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Tournament in Hilton Head since 2012, which features many of the top women’s intercollegiate golf teams in the United States.
