Rory McIlroy’s plans to divorce his longtime partner Erica Stoll were announced in Florida on Monday, leaving the couple’s marriage beyond repair.
Golf star Rory McIlroy filed for divorce from his wife Erica Stoll after seven years of marriage and just one day after winning a PGA Tour title, according to court documents.
He and Stoll, a Northern Irishman, began dating in 2014 and married in 2017. The couple have one child together, Poppy Kennedy McIlroy (3). The petition was sued in Palm Beach County in Florida on Monday, and four large winners called for respect and friendly processes.
“Today, the Rory Makillay communication team has confirmed that the divorce has been submitted,” said the 35 -year -old team. “They stressed Rory’s desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible. He will not be making any further comment.”
