Morikawa was invited to Woods’ Tiger Jam event in Las Vegas last week, where star-studded guests enjoyed golf, poker and other activities aimed at raising money for his foundation. At the event, the pair hosted a clinic for youth, and Morikawa was amazed at Woods’ ability to handle the clubs, despite his limited mobility due to injury.

This guy has been through a lot,” Morikawa said. “But I was lucky to have the opportunity to do something like this and talk to him and hang out with him, because I’ll go back and look like I was 15 and say, ‘I’m going to spend a few hours with you.'” It’s a dream come true to have Tiger playing poker, hitting some golf balls on the range, scratching his head, doing all that stuff. It’s pretty cool.” Woods is not playing at the Memorial, but is expected to return to action at Pinehurst No. 2 for the U.S. Open next week after receiving a special invitation from the United States Golf Association.
