Rory McIlroy mocks Scottie Scheffler’s arrest, claims only “solitary confinement” can stop him
Scotty Scheffler has been doing so well lately that even Rory McIlroy can’t help but be surprised. Scheffler has had incredible success, but that success was only partially stopped by a short stay in solitary confinement. His arrest before the second round of the PGA Championship was big news in the golf world, but the charges were later dropped. At an open US press conference, Makilra ridiculed his colleague with the law. Through golf monthly, he said:

Scheffler had won four of five tournaments before the PGA Championship, including the Masters. Despite the stoppage, he finished T8th. He then tied for second at the Charles Schwab Challenge before winning the Memorial Tournament.
Rory McIlroy joked that the police might be golf’s best hope of slowing down the world number one’s momentum. The cheper ruled most of the season and put an impressive gap between him and his friends in the golf ranking.
The average score of Sheffler is 16.4083. Xander Schauffele came in second with an 8.725 average score. Schauffler led by about 7.7 points, the same distance between Schauffele and the 121st golfer (Michael Kim). Scheffler enters the U.S. Open as the favorite, followed closely by McIlroy, who may need some outside help to slow down the fleeing Scheffler, something McIlroy acknowledged he hasn’t experienced himself. In the same interview, Rory Mcilroy explained how he felt before the next major. He has been nearly several times since 2014, but has not beaten a large tournament. Some of his closest attempts to end his drought came at the U.S. Open, including during last year’s tournament.
Rory McIlroy admitted his performances at the event have improved recently. \”But I feel like I really struggled at U.S. Open setups, 2016, \’17, \’18 in particular. I sort of had a bit of a I guess come-to-Jesus moment after that, tried to really figure out why that was. Then my performances from 2019 and after that have been really, really good,\” he said.
He ended by saying that he was excited to be back and that he really enjoyed playing at Pinehurst the last time. He hoped that the course would be kinder for him and would finally help him to win another title.
