He will feature for the U.S. Junior Amateur next month at Oakland Hills thanks to his stellar performance on Wednesday, June 19. “It feels amazing to qualify for my first USGA championship,” said Woods Jr. out of excitement. “I’m excited to compete in the U.S. Junior Amateur next month, especially somewhere as historic as Oakland Hills.” The son of 15-time major winner Tiger Woods overcame a bogey-double bogey start at Eagle Trace Golf Club to finish with a 1-under 71. “I didn’t play great my first two holes, but I played really good for the last 16. I just told myself not to make any more bogeys or doubles and I took advantage of some nice birdie looks when I had them,” expressed the young golfer after his impressive recovery.
