Scottie Scheffler Joins Tiger Woods As Only Golfers To Accomplish PGA Tour Feat
Scottie Scheffler joined all-time great Tiger Woods in an elite list following his win at the Travelers Championship on Sunday.
According to ESPN, with his sixth win of the season, Scheffler matched Woods’ record for most wins in a season by a player ranked No. 1 in the world rankings, which Woods accomplished in 2009.
Scheffler (-22) won the Travelers over Tom Kim in a one-hole playoff after shooting a final-round 65, including birdies on three consecutive holes on the back-nine to pull into a tie for first.
Scheffler has been the World No. 1 golfer for 57 consecutive weeks dating back to May 22, 2023.
This year, he also has wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players Championship, the Masters, RBC Heritage, and the Memorial.
The two-time major winner will try for his third next month across the pond.
