Hank Haney, who once worked with the great Tiger Woods during his coaching career, believes winning on the PGA Tour is no longer the feat it once was

Tiger Woods’ former coach Hank Haney has found himself facing criticism on social media after claiming that winning a PGA Tour tournament “has never been easier.” Haney, who has worked with some of the tour’s biggest names, including Woods, made the announcement Sunday night after Australian star Cam Davis captured the Rocket Mortgage Classic title and recorded his second U.S. tournament victory.

Davis shot two-under par on Sunday in a dramatic final round at the Detroit Golf Club, edging out Aaron Rai and Akshay Bhatia, as well as compatriot Minwoo Lee, for the win. But Haney seemed unimpressed by the feat, questioning the strength of PGA Tour events compared to previous years: “No one at Corrupt Golf Media has written an article saying it’s easier than ever to win on the PGA Tour,” he tweeted. “That’s one of the many reasons why they are the founders of CGM.” Not everyone on social media seemed to agree with Haney, with a number of golf fans responding to the 15-time major champion’s former coach to have their say.

“Easier? The PGAT[our] is still the most difficult tour to get on to, the competition is fierce,\” one fan responded, before another went on to tweet: \”Easier compared to what? Signature events are harder for top players to win compared to events over the past 50 years since so many top players are in the same event. “It used to be easier to win because the talent was more widely spread,” while a third continued, “Thank you for knowing better than anyone that golf is hard to win at any level.” One man who has taken the golf world by storm. The campaign currently features world No.1 Scottie Scheffler, who has won an astonishing six titles this season, including the Masters at Augusta National in April.
