Who is Amanda Balionis? Rory McIlroy and host romance rumours are “relationship talk”

Four-time golf major champion Rory McIlroy is rumoured to be in a relationship with CBS sports reporter Amanda Balionis following his recent divorce decree, and there is a possibility of a romance.

Rory McIlroy was romantically linked to CBS sports reporter Amanda Balionis shortly after announcing his plans to divorce his wife Erica Stoll. He and Stoll, who is Northern Irish, began dating in 2014 and married in 2017, and the couple have one child, Poppy Kennedy McIlroy, 3. But after seven years of marriage, McIlroy and Stoll’s intention to divorce was made public just after their fourth year together, when the then-major winner won the Wells Fargo Championship. The 35-year-old finished T12th at last week’s PGA Championship. Now, the Daily Mail reports, there’s “talk” about a potential romance between McIlroy and golf journalist Balionis.

The couple’s chemistry was on full display when McIlroy and Balionis, wearing matching tops, sat down for an interview. Balionis seemed comfortable with McIlroy, laughing and flirting. “What equipment did you need to reassert your dominance over Quail Hollow?” the 34-year-old blonde asked, leaving fans trying to piece it all together. According to the source. “The meaning of Lolly’s marriage with Eric was that Erica was married and was alone,” said our source every week. “Rory was a difficult person to marry.

“She knew what her job was, but once they had Poppy, things really changed and she had a new perspective. Erica was usually absent from most tournaments to focus on Poppy.

McIlroy was close to breaking a decade of performances by playing two majors in 2024. The reasons behind the long wait are highly controversial, and former Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley believes there are two potential reasons for it. McGinley believes the golf course today is much stronger than when McIlroy came on the scene, and there’s also the mental aspect.

“I say ‘for now’ because I feel like Rory McIlroy probably has three or four majors left, if he ever gets it, or maybe not. It’s all about getting the first one. You’d think a golf course like this where he’s won before would motivate him,” McGinley added.
