2024 PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele has taken Rory McIlroy’s spot in second place on the Official World Golf Rankings. Schauffele lifted the Wanamaker Trophy after securing his first Major victory last weekend and moved up in the rankings as an added caveat.

Xander Schauffele went wire to wire with LIV Golf’s Crushers GC captain Bryson DeChambeau for the last round of the 2024 PGA Championship. Xander Schauffele was tied with DeChambeau at 20-under through 17 holes and needed a birdie or better to secure his first Major victory. Schauffele birdied Valhalla Golf Club’s par-five 18th hole to seal his victory.

Current World No. 3 Rory McIlroy dropped off the second position on the Official World Golf Rankings. McIlroy tied for a 12th place finish at the 2024 PGA Championship fresh off back-to-back victories at the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans with his playing partner Shane Lowry and the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship.Eight-time PGA Tour winner Xander Schauffele now sits second on the Official World Golf Rankings with a total of 380.94798 points, moving up from being ranked 6th after the 2023 season. Rory McIlroy ended the 2023 PGA Tour season with a world ranking at second and maintained his position until this week at the 2024 PGA Championship.

Scottie Scheffler holds his 2023 Official World Golf Ranking as number one through the 2024 PGA Tour season. Scheffler leads the rankings with a total of 676.73025 points as World No. 1.

Scheffler’s tied for 8th finish at the 2024 PGA Championship earned him 14.5 points to maintain the lead by a total of 295.78227 points. He has earned 409.24901 points this season.

2024 PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele earned 100 points for his victory at Valhalla Golf Club. Schauffele’s total points now add up to 380.94798 points with 44 events played this season as he ranks second.2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans and 2024 Wells Fargo Championship winner Rory McIlroy dropped down to third on the Official World Golf Rankings, earning 160.82837 points this season. McIlroy however has a total of 385.54879 points accumulated throughout his career on the PGA Tour.

2024 PGA Championship runner-up Bryson DeChambeau is ranked 35th on the Official World Golf Rankings. With 60 points earned for his finish at the Major, the LIV Golf star has earned 79 points this season and has a total of 99.08126 points.Jon Rahm is the highest-ranked LIV Golf player on the Official World Golf Rankings. Despite missing the cut at the 2024 PGA Championship, Rahm has earned 2.75000 points this season but ranks seventh with a total of 223.02596 points.
