Transport Norin Van Luwen plays a triple world champion Michaelvangelben on the night before the historic performance at the end of the year at the end of the World Cup at the end of the year. Van Leeuwen, who will be the first transgender player to compete at the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Championship at Alexandra Palace in December, has qualified for her first Grand Slam tournament by being inducted into the PDC’s Women’s Order of Achievement. She will also be the first transgender player to play against men in a televised PDC tournament, which will be shown live on Sky Sports. The opening group stage matches will see van Leeuwen first face Dutchman van Gerwen, currently ranked third in the world, before facing “The Flying Scotsman” Gary Anderson, a former world number one, and qualifier Ryan Joyce.

The opening match will be played in Wolverhampton on Saturday 9 November, with the knockout matches starting on 13 November and the final four days later. PDC policies for transplashers are supported as fair

Matthew Porter, director of PDC, defended his policy on darts and just called him.

“Nollyin has begun to achieve more success in recent years, so the opposition has been loud, and that’s the world’s road,” said Sky News. “Again, it’s something we respect, but at the end of the day, we have a policy and we like it.»

The PDC website highlights that its governing body, the Darts Regulatory Authority (DRA), encourages mixed darts events with the exception of women’s series and matches.

The DRA’s transgender and gender diversity policy requires that transgender and non-binary players are treated with respect, welcomed like other participants and accepted “in the gender they represent.” Van Leuven, who previously opened its doors to not wanting her house because of the online abuses it had been confronted, was passed in 2021.

She made the headlines in May after her British opponent, Deta Hedman, lost a quarter -final match at the Denmark Open. This resulted in the Dutch star being subjected to harassment and humiliation.

Van Leuven said Hedman’s decision was particularly frustrating because she doesn’t believe there is “any real difference between men and women” in darts. Share your thoughts! Let us know in the comments below and remember to keep the conversation respectful.
