F1 team strikes major Mercedes deal
Williams Racing has confirmed that Mercedes-Benz will continue to supply engines to the team beyond the 2026 F1 season.
Extending the partnership into the new regulatory technology era of 2026 reflects both teams’ commitment to excellence and innovation dating back to the start of the hybrid era in 2014. It is important to note that future power plants will use 100% sustainable fuel and strictly adhere to sustainability standards. Performance improvements include an advanced electrical system with a single 350 kW electric motor. This is almost three times more powerful than the current MGU-K. Importantly, the development of these advanced power plants is subject to cost containment regulations that ensure financial sustainability and maximize productivity.
