Lewis Hamilton and George Russell started a fire in their first season together at Mercedes, but more disagreements arose between them in the second year of their partnership.

George Russell and Lewis Hamilton believe in fair racing for each other despite some challenges in their second season as teammates.

The most important incident occurred seconds after the conclusion of the Qatar Grand Prix. The two Mercedes drivers struggled to get around the outside of their Hamilton team-mate in the first corner, but contact did occur.

Hamilton crashed into the gravel and was thrown out of the race, later claiming responsibility despite complaining on the radio. But this was not the only event that attracted the attention of the British in 2023.

They weren’t even racing in Barcelona when they came into contact during qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix and ended up shooting. There have been many instances of people voicing complaints to each other over the radio, even in incidents other than physical contact.

Lewis Hamilton admits he is sick because George Russell is too ill to race for the Mercedes team.

While neither man is competing for the title, Russell says it’s not unusual for teammates to run into each other on the road. He represented himself by saying that there was mutual trust between him and Hamilton.

“I think when you’re that close in terms of performance, if you do the same lap times or start each other on the grid, you’re always going to be close,” he said. “We always discuss strategy during meetings. The speed difference between us is zero. “We always have a 24-race season, averaging 60 laps per race, and we cross paths a lot, and he’s the driver I see the most. That’s probably why I set it up.”
