As Simone Biles prepares to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics, there’s no doubt that her husband, Jonathan Owens, will be cheering her on the whole time.

On June 30, the world watched as the gymnast secured her spot as a member of Team USA’s gymnastics team. After competing for two days at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she joined Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera as those set to vie for Olympic gold. This also marked her third time making the U.S. Olympic team, after qualifying for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in July 2021.

The day after Simone made it into the 2024 Paris Olympics, her NFL-playing husband (Jonathan plays safety for the Chicago Bears) posted a tribute to celebrate her success on Instagram.

“No words can describe how proud of you I am baby 🤎,” he wrote on July 1. “Just knowing all the work that you put in and everything that you’ve been through, and to still come back and be as dominant as ever, I was speechless. I’m so thankful to be apart of this journey with you, and I cant wait to be able to watch you out there in Paris. I’m so happy for you babe!!!! 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷 Cheers to going to your third Olympic Games!!!!!! Just sounds so surreal being able to say my wife is the best to EVER do it, how did I get so lucky 😌 I love you so much 🤞🏽🤞🏽.”

“We love to see you both so happy & supportive of one another! ❤️ let’s go Simone!! ❤️👏,” one person exclaimed. “Now you know why this country loves her so much! Continue to take good care of her for us! 🥰,” another wrote. “She’s bringing home the gold ❤️❤️ Love you guys!!” a different follower added.

While we’ll have to see how Simone fares in Paris, we do know folks can watch the highs and lows of her stardom in Netflix’s upcoming docuseries Simone Biles Rising.

The four-part series will air days before the Games on July 18, and it will follow her life as she makes a comeback after withdrawing from the Tokyo Olympics due to getting came “the twisties,” in which she experienced a loss of body awareness while flipping in the air.
